Barry Brownjohn, Non-Executive Director
Appointed to the Board in 1993, Barry has extensive experience in commercial and investment banking. He is a Senior Consultant with Pacific Road Corporate Finance, a leading independent corporate advisory firm, and previously held senior positions at the Bank of America in Asia and US Headquarters. He has served as Managing Director of the Bank of America in Australia and is a graduate in accounting, finance and systems at the University of NSW.
Robert Newey (Bob), Non-Executive Director
Appointed in 2008, Bob brings 30 years of experience in managing change, developing strategic plans, organising people and leading entrepreneurial teams. Bob is a retail advisor with Texas Pacific Group, a consultant to the Myer Management Board and a Director of Australian Geographic and Director of a business advisory and management firm. Previously he was a member of the Woolworths senior management team and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Chris Caldwell, General Manager Marketing & General Manager Operations (NSW & QLD)
Chris was appointed in July 2007 after four years managing the Marketing and Retail Strategy divisions of Tattersall's. Prior to this, Chris was the General Manager Marketing & Sales at Village Roadshow – Exhibition and has an extensive background in marketing, management, commercial strategy and operations. Chris has a Bachelor of Business Degree and a Diploma in Financial Market Economics.
Gerry Gerrard, General Manager Property & Supply Chain Management
Gerry joined Bakers Delight in November 2004, after four years as National Property Manager - Retail at ANZ. Prior to that Gerry worked in national property roles at AXA and Coles Myer and also has a background in retail and small business. Gerry has a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Masters of Management.
Debbie Dowling, General Manager Finance
Debbie joined Bakers Delight in April 1998 and was appointed General Manager - Finance and Company Secretary in October 2008. Debbie has 14 years experience in accounting and business management in the retail sector. Debbie has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and is a Certified Practicing Accountant.
Joanne Stubbs, Chief Information Office
Joanne joined Bakers Delight in August 2008 after 2 years working abroad in Dubai for Dubaiworld and in Fiji for Westpac. Prior to this Joanne worked as CIO for the Good Guys and CIO-Asia Pacific for GMAC. Joanne has extensive experience in the retail and finance industries with a solid project management background. Joanne has a Masters in Management majoring in Technology.
Chris Gurney, General Manager Southern Region Franchised Operations
Chris was appointed to the role of Bakers Delight General Manager Marketing & Supply in 1999. In 2007 Chris made the move to Canada taking with him a wealth of experience to lead the way as President of the North American business. Today he provides strategic direction to the largest Australian region. He has a Bachelor of Economics and wide experience in Marketing Blue Chip consumer goods and logistics management.
Grant Goldsworthy, Regional Manager NSW/ACT
Grant joined Bakers Delight in February 2007 with a background in retail and wholesale operations management, working for companies such as Tabcorp and Bohemia Crystal. Grant holds a Bachelor of Business degree and recently completed a Masters of Business Administration.
David Tierney, Regional Manager WA
Prior to Bakers Delight, David spent eight years in Retail Management including three years operating his own bakery. As a Business Consultant, David gained strong operational experience prior to being appointment to Regional Manager WA in January 2006.
Orna Terpstra, Regional Manager SA/NT
Orna joined Bakers Delight in October 2000 as a Franchise Consultant. He has over twenty-five years experience in the baking industry. Orna has successfully managed and owned a number of independent bakeries as well as holding senior management positions within plant bakeries. He is a qualified baker/pastry cook with an Advanced Diploma in Business Management.
Todd Martin, Regional Manager QLD
Todd joined Bakers Delight in June 2006 as an Area Manager and in 2010 was appointed Regional Manager QLD. Prior to this he was with Domino's Pizza for six years, four of which Todd gained invaluable operations experience as a franchisee. He also gained 2 years corporate experience at Subway. Todd is currently competing a Bachelor of Commerce.
Elise Gillespie, Vice President COBS Bread Canada
Elise joined COBS Bread in 2004 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Melbourne. Elise has gained extensive operational knowledge and skill in her role as a regional director before being appointed to her current role in 2009.
Aaron Gillespie, Vice President COBS Bread Canada
Aaron moved to Canada at the age of 24 as part of a 13 person team selected to open the first COBS Bread bakeries in Canada. What started as a few bakeries, Aaron has been instrumental in growing the business over the region. In 2009 Aaron was promoted to Vice President and now oversees 17 bakeries in addition to several internal departments including product development, finance and IT.
David Christie, Vice President COBS Bread Canada
David joined COBS Bread in Vancouver in June 2004 and has since worked in a number of operational roles in different regions in North America, with a focus on opening new markets for the company in Alberta, Interior British Columbia and Seattle, Washington. Prior to this he completed his BA in Cape Town, South Africa.
John Gilson, Vice President COBS Bread Canada
John joined COBS Bread in March 2003, after working at CBRE Ltd. as a Tenant Representation Specialist in the retail brokerage field for 7 years. Prior to this John worked in the UK for 10 years as Director of Acquisitions at Pizza Hut, and other brand retailers, providing him extensive retail experience. John has a BA Science in Environmental Economics from Trinity college, Dublin.
