Minimum age is determined by State legislation. Age requirements may also be based on Bakers Delight’s own policies which includes not to employ anyone under the age of 14.
For applicants under the age of 15; written parental/guardian consent must be provided prior to starting work. Please refer to your relevant State minimum age:
VIC - 15 years of age as prescribed by the Child Employment Act 2003.
WA – applicants under 16 years can only work during the hours of 6am to 10pm and may not work during school hours.
SA - school aged children are not permitted to work during school hours in accordance with the Child Employment Act 1972. Employees 16 years of age are required to attend full time education or training until a qualification is received or turning 17 years.
QLD - school aged children under 16 years are required to be enrolled at school and receive parental consent before starting work. School aged children cannot work for more than 12 hours a week during a school week or more than 38 hours during school holidays. They are also not permitted to work more than four hours on a school day or more than eight hours on the weekend or during school holidays. School aged children may not work between 10pm and 6am.
NSW/ACT - no minimum age however work must take place outside school hours. If under the age of 15 and seeking full time work with the intention of leaving school, permission must be sort from the Department of Education.
NT - children under the age of 15 cannot work between the hours of 10pm and 6am. Applicants under 15 years must provide written parental/guardian consent before commencing work.
TAS - minimum age of employment is 14 years and work must occur outside school hours only.
NZ -there is no minimum age of employment in New Zealand. Children under the age of 16 cannot work during school hours.
